We\u2019re introducing a new feature that surfaces richer student engagement data on assignments with Google Drive attachments in Google Classroom.\u00a0<\/div>\n

With this update, teachers will have easily accessible visibility into whether students have made progress on assignments with Drive attachments through pre-existing workflows in Classroom. This can help to identify students who may need additional support and make more informed decisions about how to assist their students.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Specifically, teachers can see:\u00a0<\/div>\n
From the Classwork page: The number of students who haven\u2019t edited attachments for assignments.\u00a0From the student work page on individual assignments: When the attachments were last edited by each student.\u00a0<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
With this information, teachers can:\u00a0<\/div>\n
Quickly see whether students have started on their assigned work\u00a0Provide timely interventions like sending reminders to the class or individual students\u00a0Adjust instruction based on class progress\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n

The feature is currently only available on assignments with Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drawings attachments.\u00a0<\/div>\n

Getting started\u00a0<\/h3>\n
Admins: There is no admin control for this feature.\u00a0End users:\u00a0Teachers can view edit activity for a Drive attachment associated with a student submission by going to the Student work page and viewing submissions with Drive files attached.\u00a0Visit the Help Center to learn more about viewing student engagement on assignments with Drive attachments.\u00a0\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n

Rollout pace\u00a0<\/h3>\n
Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains<\/a>: Extended rollout (potentially longer than 15 days for feature visibility) starting on August 7, 2024, with expected completion by end of August, 2024.\u00a0<\/div>\n
