Today, we\u2019re excited to announce the general availability of Google Vids for Education Plus and Gemini for Workspace customers.<\/p>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>Vids can help deepen learning opportunities, up-level instruction, and inspire the next generation of storytellers in a variety of scenarios, for example:\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li>Educators can support diverse learning styles and help students retain information with instructional videos and deep dives on complex concepts.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Students can work on video projects and review recorded lessons.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Education leaders can easily incorporate video in their school newsletters and create internal training videos for staff.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Similar to other productivity tools like Docs, Sheets, and Slides, Vids includes a simple, easy-to-use interface and the ability to <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/docs\/answer\/65129\">collaborate in real-time and share<\/a> projects securely from your browser. You can easily get started with a variety of templates organized by use cases to create a new video. From there, you can add motion with animations, transitions, and photo effects, and customize your video using the Vids royalty free education-friendly stock content library or your own media directly from Google Drive or Google Photos. Vids is also integrated with Workspace tools like Google Classroom, empowering educators to easily assign video projects or post video explainers right to their students. As detailed <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/answer\/15439441\">here<\/a>, Google Vids is a core Workspace Service covered under the <a href=\"https:\/\/workspace.google.com\/terms\/education_terms\/\">Google Workspace for Education terms of service.\u00a0<\/a><\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<p> Users 18 years and older with a Gemini Education or Education Premium add-on will also have access to Gemini in Vids, giving them the ability to produce polished videos even faster with the help of AI.  \u2018<a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/users\/answer\/14819770?hl=en&amp;ref_topic=14817753&amp;sjid=13755446657253025095-NC#AI\">Help me create<\/a>\u2019 can generate a fully editable initial storyboard using a prompt and a doc from your Google Drive. After choosing a style, Gemini pieces together your video draft with suggested scenes, including recommended stock media, text, scripts per scene, and even a background music track.\u00a0<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>\n<div class=\"separator\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<h3>Getting started\u00a0<\/h3>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><b>Admins:<\/b>\u00a0<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>Vids will be ON by default and can be disabled at the organizational level. However, if Google Docs are turned OFF in your domain, Vids access will be unavailable.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Visit the Help Center to learn more about <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/answer\/14896418\">turning Vids on or off for users<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/a\/answer\/15439441\">new core services coming to Google Workspace for Education.\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li><b>End users:\u00a0<\/b><\/li>\n<ul>\n<li>To start, open <a href=\"https:\/\/vids.new\/\">Google Vids<\/a> and choose an option to create a new video. You can create a new video or make a copy of an existing video for editing.\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>You can use Vids on your computer with the two most recent versions of these browsers:\u00a0<\/li>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/chrome\">Chrome\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mozilla.org\/firefox\/new\/\">Firefox\u00a0<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Windows only: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.microsoft.com\/windows\/microsoft-edge\">Microsoft Edge<\/a>\u00a0<\/li>\n<li>Other browsers may work, but you might not be able to use all of the features.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<li>Dive into Google Vids with our free, self-paced <a href=\"https:\/\/skillshop.exceedlms.com\/student\/path\/1365947-easy-video-creation-for-teaching-and-learning-with-google-vids\">online training course<\/a>, designed specifically for educators and available now in the Google for Education Learning Center.
