When collaborating with external and internal stakeholders, you may find yourself working across both Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel. This update keeps your work moving by layering interoperability on top of the privacy <a href=\"https:\/\/workspaceupdates.googleblog.com\/2022\/08\/client-side-encryption-for-google-meet.html\">benefits of client-side encryption<\/a>: users are in direct control of their encryption keys and the identity service that they choose to authenticate for those keys.<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogger.googleusercontent.com\/img\/b\/R29vZ2xl\/AVvXsEgA4PsBpt6Mnx6I805d59fIaX3EnsgvSl9-uGQEP0PgCh1rcobu8b6KNMxkfvFXz52GSEJ_EPKAuUEtL86WZf9iHdhFEzr4udTXrMBoa0FXVijQEjygHcB3qi5mz-YQylOfwDF5K1pgkVFazeEHmODh1jvifH9P3u4MNxVYgl7iMLQRjTwFuyyCQr8c24c\/s1280\/csega.png\"><\/a><\/div>\n<p><\/p>\n<p>This feature was <a href=\"https:\/\/workspaceupdates.googleblog.com\/2023\/08\/import-convert-excel-files-into-client-side-encrypted-google-sheets.html\">previously announced<\/a> in August 2023 as part of an open beta.<\/p>\n<div>\n<h3>Additional details\u00a0<\/h3>\n<div>With this release:\u00a0<\/div>\n<div>You can only import .xslx Excel file types.\u00a0Additional Excel and tabular file types are not supported.\u00a0During import, unsupported Excel features in Sheets will be ignored.\u00a0The maximum file size is 10MB.\u00a0The maximum number of cells that can be imported is 10 million.\u00a0<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<h3>Getting started<\/h3>\n<div>Admins: Client-side encryption can be enabled at the domain, OU, and Group levels (Admin console &gt; Security &gt; Access and data control &gt; Client-side encryption).
