User sessions are considered within the Google Workspace trust boundary and are not shared outside that specific user session.
For Gemini, as for other Google Workspace services, Google uses customer data to provide our services and not for model training or improvement purposes.

How can customers prevent sensitive data from being entered into prompts and disclosed outside their organisation? Do Google Workspace's Data Loss Prevention (DLP) capabilities apply to interactions with Gemini?
Gemini will not share the content entered in its prompts outside the user's organisation, and it is not used for model improvements.
For supported Google Workspace editions, the existing DLP controls will continue to apply to output generated by Gemini that is inserted into the Google Workspace services covered by DLP.
Are there any domain configuration requirements for using Gemini?
Yes, end users must have the English as the language setting in the console to use Gemini for Google Workspace.
Will Gemini have contextual awareness of documents, branding, policies, etc. within the client's domain?
Gemini will only be contextually aware of content that is directly shared with it during the session.
Can this product be sold on its own (standalone)?
No, the product is a Google Workspace add-on and its subscription presupposes that you already have a Google Workspace plan allocated to your domain. See above for the limitations of each version of Gemini in relation to the Workspace plan.
Can customers buy the add-on for a subset of their users? Is there a minimum?
You can, there is no minimum number of licences.
Customers can buy and assign licences for the Gemini add-on for Google Workspace to a subset of their users.
Administrators should follow the guidelines on Google Workspace SKU eligibility when assigning the add-on to their users.
For example, you may have an account with 50 Workspace users, 5 of whom have the Gemini service.
Do Gemini's add-ons comply with the European Union's General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR)?
